Together with UNDP Somalia, IITE Institute announces the launch of Tadamon Crowdfunding Academy in Somalia. The Tadamon Crowdfunding Academy is an online interactive training program that aims to enhance the capacities of civil society organizations (CSOs) to raise funds using crowdfunding.
The Tadamon Crowdfunding Academy is part of the IsDB-ISFD-NGO Empowerment for Poverty Reduction Program. It is sponsored by the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD), managed by the Islamic Development Bank, and implemented by UNDP and other strategic partners. In Somalia, IITE Institute of SIMAD University will be the main implementing partner.
Tadamon’s online training program is now being made available to CSOs in Somalia. Organizations with an interest in learning how to crowdfund their projects are invited to submit their project proposals over the coming weeks, with successful candidates eligible for training and other forms of support from the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
UNDP’s Innovation Specialist, Sherif El Tokali, explains the benefits:
Selected CSOs will participate in the Academy to develop a crowdfunding campaign using e-learning tools and offline training by following a tested programme that offers learning materials and presentations, work assignments and guidance from leading crowdfunding experts. The selected CSOs will qualify for grants and additional support being provided by ISDB and UNDP. It is an excellent opportunity and we would love to see more CSOs applying.Sherif El Tokali
To apply for the Academy with a project idea, fill out an application form on the Tadamon platform. The deadline for applications is 13 September 2021 (23:59 pm Mogadishu time).
