In order to ensure that SIMAD University students and graduates receive practical entrepreneurship skills and contribute to the wider development of Somalia, IITE Institute will offer them systematic entrepreneurship guidance and mentorship. Last-year students will receive semester-based practical, one-month long workshops. The workshops are based on the design thinking approach developed by the d.shool of Stanford University in the USA, the lean startup approach of Steve Blank, and digital fabrication workshops intended to bring the students’ projects into life.

The institute will also invite SIMAD University alumni for a week-long mentorship. The guidance is based on the same curriculum of design thinking, lean startup, and digital fabrication. The objective of these workshops is to support SIMAD alumni members who are aiming to develop new ventures and/or those who are already employed by local companies. Or even those who want to work as freelancers. Every company is in search of innovative employees; IITE Institute will create them.
